Sub $100 (£61) 4 core AMD Processor released
      #438666 - Thu Sep 17 2009 03:09 PM

Want to try out a 4 core AMD processor for your next computer update but your budget won't allow it

I have news for you.,and there is a Santa!
AMD have announced 2 new Processors Codenamed "PROPUS" which are in a way recycled Rejects off its Premium stock with the Number 6XX
Before you complain they are fullly functional with the Level 3 cache locked off (They supposedly failed this test (In quality testing) They do the same with some failed 4 core chips Market them as a 3 core.(and Nobodies complained)
There is already talk that some people will reactivate this feature using a 3rd party Program.
The cheapest chip is $99(£60) for the Athlon II X4 620 (@ 2.6 GHZ) and $122 ( £74) for the 2.8 Ghz Chip .A saving of 40% over the Current lineup.

NOTE : They are only for the AM3 Socket Motherboard , Not the AM2+ Sorry
Compilation of early reviews
UK availability/Prices ? Too early yet Expect VAT to add several pounds on the Price..

My opinion OK for hanging onto the Shirt tails of the Fully functional Chips and it'll be Head and Shoulders above what you are used to

This review goes deeper into what you get for your $99 or $122 (£60 or £74)

Changing all the Time! www.kikatek.com are selling the same @ £71.79 and the other chip @ £94.12 Stock was in the 90 's when I posted this
Looks like these are going to have a heavy demand once the word get into certain Magazines next week
I suspect some other AMD processor Prices to come down to Balance things out. And,Looking sideways When will the First AMD Quad core budget Motherboard Bundle be advertised ?...Aldi Medion Knowing that partnership they'll Produce a Package featuring this Chip before New Year and It'll have them queuing arond the block on a Thursday or Sunday (" Item of the week" sales days)

I should have stated that the Price of "£61" is Stateside and does not include any shipping costs
The UK "base" Price will be about £71.60 (with 17.5% VAT ) as a Guide So if you are offered this for over £80 then walk away
