Tried to recovery vista from a back up disc downloaded from neosmart but comes up with error message "windows cannot open the required file E:\Sources\Install.wim. The file does not exist. Make sure all files required for installation available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070002

i started this process because of a message i received saying failed to boot drive insert system boot disc

Tried to recovery vista

I don’t know what this is supposed to mean but if you’re trying to repair a Vista installation, it sounds as though the downloaded ISO file is corrupt. Download and burn it again, from here http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/

Once burned, boot from it, choose ‘Press any key to boot from CD/DVD’ and Vista will start to load the Windows files. Select your language, time, currency and keyboard then click ‘Repair’ in the bottom left corner. There are five choices within Repair: Startup Repair, System Restore, Backup Restore, Memory Test and Command Prompt.

If Vista will not boot, run the options in the order Startup Repair, System Restore and Command Prompt. The command to run is chkdsk /r to repair any disk corruption.
