Received a parcel I had not bid on
      #438544 - Tue Sep 15 2009 12:26 PM

Today I received a parcel from an ebay seller but I had not bid on the item and it does not show on my ebay or paypal account I also checked my bank account and nothing has been taken from there either

EDIT

A search revealed that I had won an item from the seller but for a DVD boxset and not what he had sent maybe just a mix up in posting an item I hope

If you have bought off the seller before then it may be a simple mix up - they would probably be grateful to hear from you BUT I'd only return it if they cough up the postage.

(Of course the other side is to sit tight and say nothing until you get contacted.)

I've never yet sent the wrong thing to the wrong person - if you have not bought anything off them before then the mystery is how they got your name and address?

REPLY TO YOUR EDIT:

Contact the seller fast. You need to make sure he gets back what you actually bought - BUT ensure he pays the postage for the return of what you had. Their mistake.

All sorted, I hope, I emailed the seller he had got the parcels mixed up and as he lives local to the person who is receiving my package he is going to pick it up as soon as he receives a call that he has received it and post it on to me.

I hope so as I am paying over £60 for the DVDs well they work out at less than £1.80 a DVD

Thanks for the advise

It will happen to us one day, but I am very pedantic when packing and have even opened the most carefully wrapped parcel on the odd occaision JUST to be sure.......

Once when I sold 120 of one item a nasty thought when I got home from the Post Office made me realise I had sent 150. Luckily, knowing the people at the PO, I was able to swap parcels!
