My ISP has just supplied me with a new TG585v7 router.
The first instructions about setting is to connect the phone line cable and switch on.
After a period of time the Broadband light starts flashing.
The instructions state, "Wait until it stops flashing before you continue." My ISP has also told me to wait but after several minutes it is still flashing. My connection to our local exchange is Ok because my old D-Link router works with no problems and we sometimes watch BBC iPlayer with no problems except for stopping half way through. Being in a rural area this is to be expected because our max Broadband speed is only rated at 1.5Mbs by BT.
My ISP sent me a second router to try but still the same problem. My router s/w is 7.4.4.7.
If I ignore the waiting and carry on setting up then I do get an intermittent service but keep dropping the DSL connection at very regular intervals.
Has any other rural user experienced similar problems?
Thanks,
John

Have not experienced the problem but suggest that you visit www.kitz.co.uk and view your line stats and read the info on ADSL.It seems that some makes of router can tolerate a much lower SNR Margin than others.I wonder if that if that could be the situation that you find yourself in.If so your ISP might be able to make an adjustment to the Margin.
