"Ghostly problem" solved doing the graveyard shift.
      #438367 - Thu Sep 10 2009 08:19 PM

The problem was an active X one. My default browser is mozilla firefox and the "solution centre" to HP has to use Internet Explorer to connect. Every time it tried to connect to the internet nothing happened. I did everything to remedy the situation but to no avail. Then got a message from Secunia Psi that Active X 9b was out of date. Strange I thought as I'd installed active X10. It turns out that when you install another Active X program the previous one does not always get auto uninstalled and can cause a conflict. The best thing to do when upgrading the Active X programs is to uninstall the old one first and don't fall into the trap I did and spend lots of late spooky nights trying to sort it out. Anyone need any printing done?.
