My clients have been having issues with IE8 in regards to batch printing. I installed IE8 on my workstation at the office (IT dept.) and was able to reproduce the error. Here is the script error:
Line: 2570 Char: 1 Error: Permission denied Code: 0 URL: res://ieframe.dll/preview.js
These machines are running Windows XP Pro SP3 and utilizing a web based GUI to interface with the company.
Symptoms:
When users attempt to batch print, the error is generated. Continuing scripts on the page does not result in continuing the print. If a single report is printed, it will go through just fine. It seems to only be larger files or multiple files causing the error.
Actions Taken:
I have disabled debugging and registered the OLE library. I also have disabled all add-ons. I installed the most up to date JRE as well.
I'm beginning to think that this is something that Microsoft has to fix and there is nothing that we can do to remedy this issue in the meantime. It appears to be an issue within the MHS. I'm also wondering if the protected mode meant for Vista UAC is causing issues with XP script permissions. I was hoping someone else had seen / dealt with this before and managed to find a workaround.
Thanks in advance, Kevin
