Just out of curiosity and to see what is the most popular day to recieve your copy of WU. Also to see if I am the only one getting mine late in the week.
Mine normally comes sometimes on the Wednesday or the Thursday and even as come on the Friday. I presumed that with a subscription you would get the magazine early than those who purchased it from the shops, that was one of the incentives was it not?
A certain other web fortnightly magazine which I also subscribe to comes on the Monday before it is due out and sometimes even the Saturday.
This weeks edition of WU as not arrived today so wondering if it is just me or anybody else get theirs late?

Members of the CWU are taking industrial action across different days this week in London, King's Lynn and Grantham. Delivery of subscription copies may be affected by this.

Thanks for the info Claire, my delivery slipped back to today (Wed) after being stable for a couple of months. At least we know why.

Would this have an effect on all the country or those people just living in those formentioned areas?

Royal Mail are trying to negate the worst effect of the strike by moving mail to different parts of the country for onward sorting. The real problem is that over the years they have concentrated mail sorting into larger and larger centres whilst at the same time closing the smaller ones. That means the CWU can concentrate their strike action to have the maximum effect.
So a strike in Chelmsford for example would affect mail deliveries in Colchester, Southend and Ipswich. I would guess IPC use a mailing house to do a primary sort on their magazines which are then collected by the pallet load for distribution round the country. It only needs one of the feeder services to fail through strike action and the effect would be felt over a wide area. A strike in Kings Lynn or Grantham will not have a huge effect but one in London will be felt far and wide.
The upshot is, of course, that Royal Mail will lose more and more business whilst the boneheads in the union cause widespread chaos because they are still stuck in the 1970's.

Recently, my copy has arrived on a Tuesday, but this week it was today (Wednesday). Our postman says this was most likely due to strike action by CWU members.

I got mine on the Tuesday as usual. I also got my other magazine that I subscribe to on the normal day this week (Monday).
