I tried opening firefox, the usual method with shortcut and then from start menu and there is no response from my computer, at all. I opened in safemode after walking around the internet looking for answers and it opened. How can I get my shortcut working again?

It sounds as if one of your extensions is playing up. There's 2 ways of tackling this problem. Open FF in Safe Mode and then disable all your extensions. Enable them one at a time until you find the culprit. The other option and one that I prefer is to start of with a brand new FF profile and then start re-loading your extensions. Once you are running properly with your new profile, delete the old one.
