Thanks, I've just got this new version. Opera is an excellent browser; I'm always surprised that it isn't more popular.

Couldn't agree more, Madeline! I have it as the default browser on two machines - three if you count the fact I have a dual boot laptop.
I have noticed however that with the latest release, I am getting a few 404 error pages e.g. on The Times website (I couldn't access the obituary page of Ellie Greenwich or any others). but, in Firefox, no problems, and no problem with Opera 10 when I tried again straight afterwards.
May be it's a glitch, may be it's me.
Update: Just had email from The Times; they optimise their site for IE and Firefox users. Opera isn't popular so they ignore it; anyone thinking of trying Opera will be put off. Catch-22!

I must admit I don't use Opera as much as I could. I mainly use Firefox, which is my default browser and Maxthon. It's so easy to get stuck in a rut and I'm determined to use other browsers more often! Your update says much about why Opera isn't used as much as it deserves. Another thing that probably puts people off is adverts. They aren't there now but a few years ago, the free version of Opera had a lot of ads, that's why it was free. There isn't a paid-for version now, but people still remember the first things they heard, even if they're no longer the case.
