I recently downloaded some mpeg and windows media videos and checked them they worked fine but now when i try and play them they wont work says cannot open this video i have tried nero windows media quick time and real player and none of them will open videos i know they worked numerous times before and now they wont i have lost several videos recently can anyone shed any light as to why ? (i run windows xp pro ) cheers giddy
Have you tried VLC player this seems to play most formats. If this doesn't work have you tried using Nero to burn them to disc. If neither of these work something's corrupted.
thanks for your reply i have a feeling its got something to do with defrag something i do about once every 3 mths when i sat an thought about it defrag was the only thing that i had done since i last watched some these films i had downloaded .... i havent lost any since i last defragged system ( to be honest i had this desktop pc for about 7yrs its due for the scrap heap i need a newer faster model i just never liked Vista prefer XP PRO but they say new windows 7 is good ) anyway thats my thoughts on why they are workin fine an then not cheers giddy
