For the past few days we've been unable to connect to the internet using the main computer in the house, despite the wireless connection continuing to work perfectly on all laptops and the computer saying the connection is fine no matter how many times we check it / 'repair' it or restart the computer.
Also the desktop widget thing which connects to the internet to retrieve weather details is working but when we go to access any websites or live messenger or anything we get nothing.
Any ideas as to why ?
No programs have been installed & no security settings have been changed between last it worked and now.
Cheers

I don't know if this helps, but a few days ago I couldn't connect, I just got a message saying "cannot find DNS server." I was able to fix it with I.E.'s Automated Repair. I then had to re-register with my ISP, though they still had my details. I'm trying to find out what happened, in terms a layman can understand, perhaps someone here can help. Your problem maybe differant from the one I had, but you could try I.E.'s diagnostic and repair facility.
