video/audio files
      #437286 - Fri Aug 21 2009 08:11 PM

I receive emails with video/audio attachments. When I view the video, the colours and shapes are totally distorted. They look quite psychodelic (?) but quite impossible to watch. I have deleted Media Player 10 and downloaded Windows Media Player 11 again but I still have the same problem. I am using XP Home with all the service packs. Any ideas ?

You might not have the necessary codecs installed.

Download and install VLC Media Player and see if they work OK using that.

Hi, Ritchie P,
I checked and I do have VLC Media Player installed. Re-installed it but still no joy. John

Download and install the Full K-Lite Codec Pack

Install the bundled Media Player Classic and see if that plays them.

Hello again Ritchie P, I downloaded the full pack as suggested. Regretfully, it did not work. So, it looks like I am stuck with this problem. I will continue to forward them to my wife`s computer and view them there. Thanks for your interest.
John
