hi all, I was thinking about signing up for BT Vision. I rang the sales people to enquire what I was getting and what the option were for me. All seemed ok and I was interested to give it a go, the sales person said they would do a speed check on my phone line to see if my broadband connection was sufficient. They said that I needed at least 2MBps and I was only getting 0.5 Mbps. No surprises there. They suggested that I fitted what they called a broadband accelerator (otherwise know as an Iplate). I ordered one from BT, received an email saying my order was being processed and would take up to 4 weeks. Arrived 2 days later ??? Took 5 minutes to fit. Since then I have been monitoring my line speed, using BB max and speedtester .net and the leaflet that came with the accelerator suggested www.speedtester.bt.com. Since I fitted it 2 days ago my average speed before was 1.2Mbps if lucky, now it ranges from 3.8Mbps to 5.3Mbps ?? I rang BT back to arrange for BT Vision, they did the line test and said that I am only getting 0.5Mbps ??? Weird or what !!

No doubt they were reading from a script, I was told I could only get a connection speed of 256kbp/s but was offered BT vision when I signed up to BT last year
