I am developing a e-commerce site. What I want to do, is find where in the UK, visitors to my site are from. i don't want to use a Form, as they may find this intrusive. Before doing business with people I want to know where they are from. Many thanks for any advice, as I am struggling with this one. Cheers!
The only way to 'track' visitors is via their IP, but that's not always geographically accurate. Asking them is the only way to be sure.
I would suggest if you don't want to deal with folk in a given location you say so on the site - or list where you are willing to do business, if that's easier.

It actually shows a worldwide map that is 'live' so you can see where visitors are when they are currently looking. That was also the one thing that stumped me - I expected UK visitors but got them from Japan, India, Australia......
Haven't really gone too mad on my site for a time, but it might be worth a look at this useful widget. They also do a paid for version - not sure if anyone has tried that.
