Just to give you an update - our mailing company has now confirmed that it did dispatch a number of subscription copies 3 days late. Its report originally showed that everything had gone on schedule.
IPC has made it clear to the mailing company that this is not satisfactory and we will take appropriate action if there are any delays on any coming issues.
Hopefully, this issue will have been resolved for Issue 217 but may I remind you that if your next issue of Web User does not arrive by Wednesday 1 July please email me with your name and postal address.
Sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

Thanks for the update Claire. My copy didn't arrive last time until Saturday morning and I understand the circumstances regarding the mailing company. @ Mailing company. If you're viewing this thread then look out she's on your case.

Just to let you know that we are aware that at least 80% of copies have definitely been handed over for delivery to subscribers today but it may be that some customers get their copies tomorrow rather than today.
The mailing company has admitted it has been having operational and staffing problems within the depot that processes our subscription copies.
A new depot manager has recently been moved in from a different location and they're expecting a fast improvement. The mailing company is fully aware of the problems as it's affecting many customers, not just us.
They also understand that we are are not happy on behalf of our subscribers but are confident there will now be an improvement.

Thanks for letting us know the current situation Claire, I hope to receive my copy of WU later today (Thursday)!
Being a little irritated by the non-appearance of WU on Wednesday, I rang IPC Media on the enquiry number given in WU on the subscription page. I spoke to a very polite and helpful man who was very apologetic about the problems we've been experiencing. He said that if the mag doesn't get delivered as expected, after a few days we should buy one in a shop and then ring them to get our subscriptions extended.
I just hope things will settle down and improve now they've got the new depot manager.

Still no WU for me either! Is there any point in sending an email about this as IPC already have my complaint on record from my call to them on Wednesday? I had to give them my subscriber number, so they knew it was me!

No mag showed up today. I phoned subscriptions today and the girl on the phone told me the delay was due to postal strikes, which I know is a load of rubbish. Said I should get the mag at the latest on Monday, WTF?

Mine arrived Thursday....But No Copies in My Local branch of Martins (WN8 area)
Off topic slightly I suspect the Postmen have become glorified Leaflet deliverers . Wednesday thay delivered NO mail, instead they posted to every door a leaflet about Evening classes which was binned!

Just a reminder, to those that haven't done so, please send me an email with your full name and postal address if you received your copy late again this week. Please send this regardless of whether you called our subs department.
I would like you to do this as I am sending a list of these names to the head of our customer care department.

Postal strikes?? As you say, a load of rubbish. They tried that one on me too. It's true that there have been a few minor disruptions to postal services, but I don't think most people noticed! have a look here and also click on the link entitled 'Further Royal Mail strikes in London'. Our postman says things are normal as far as he's concerned. We've been receiving our post (apart from WU) as usual from all sorts of places such as Northampton, Yorkshire, West Midlands, several places in Wales and even London and Scotland. A fortnight ago I got my mag on the Monday following the expected Wednesday delivery. Looks like it's going to be the same this time. At least I'll be able to get my sub extended and everyone else who's been affected by late deliveries should do the same.

I have sent copies of Issue 217 to all those that gave me their address and reported their issue as not arriving. If for some reason this does not arrive, please EMAIL or PM me.
For those of you that complained to the telephone hotline, please let me know if you are unhappy with how it was handled via EMAIL or PM me.
Furthermore, on my request our subs department is to revert all those that have supplied me with their addresses back to Royal Mail from next issue. Hopefully this will mean, bar postal strikes, that you will receive your subs copy as before.
For those of you that have received late copies but didn't respond to my requests for your contact details, I am afraid I have been unable to specifically move you to back to Royal Mail.
However, as I have stated previously, the mailing company has explained that it has had issues with its depot and it expects this to improve significantly with its new manager.
However, be assured that we WE WILL be moving to a new supplier if copies are late on future issues.
I can understand your frustration on these late deliveries and I have personally done everything I can to help you.

Thanks everyone for the updates. I was out all day yesterday and couldn't reply then. Claire I appreciate all you are doing to help us. I emailed my name and address to you last Thursday. Today is Tuesday and still no luck, unfortunately I'm off on holiday early tomorrow before the postal delivery so it looks like I shall have to wait until I get back for my copy, by then the next one will be due.
regards Ellen

Mine didn't! I have been in touch with IPC and they're going to extend my subscription which is something positive. I've spoken to them twice recently and I found the people I spoke to very polite and helpful. Apparently they've had quite a lot of calls from WU subscribers, which isn't surprising. She mentioned that IPC currently use TNT as their mailing company. Clearly they don't live up to their name when it comes to the speed of deliveries!
Many thanks to you Claire for all your efforts on our behalf, they're very much appreciated.

Let's hope that, after all Claire's efforts for us, we'll get our copies as expected this coming week. I feel optimistic about it! I never got a copy of the last issue from the IPC mailing company.

2 weeks later after moaning that I had not received issue 217 (2nd July) of Webuser it arrived today in the post from the suppliers!
I have already read this issue as Claire kindly sent out the missing copy in brown envelopes to those who never received it.
Better late than never I suppose!

One thing I've noticed because of this is a price discrepancy. On the copies I've received from WU/IPC, the cover price is £2.00, but in the shops here, the cover price is £2.10. Why the difference?
