Google Chrome V.2.0 Now "Good to go " (NO BETA)
      #431098 - Sun May 24 2009 05:10 PM

I manually updated Google Chrome on the "About" link and I recieved Version 2.0.172.28
Can not see any difference(or change) and It has not Crashed or glitched in an Hour of use (surfing normally)
You can now Update without fear of it leaving you in an awkward situation
PS The Program will automatically Update to this version if the Manual update Has not Been made within a certain time

OH and It is Out of BETA! The tag is gone
and it says on the Changes just this

I've just got used to version 1! I don't suppose it'll update to version 2 will it? I suppose I'll have to uninstall v1 and then install v2. Is that right?

Nothing of the sort Madeline
This is easy peasy
Open Chrome, click on the Spanner Icon for the Menu

Click on the Link About Google Chrome
If you have a Update due to you, there is a small button in this message box (bottom right hand corner) NO Update? An OK Button is shown instead to close the box.
Just click it and close Chrome when the Message shows! Thats it! (about 30 seconds Max) When You open the Program again, it is on the New version.
As I reported earlier the Changes are Minor and most people wont spot them.

Thanks Mike, that sounds easy. I'll try it later and let you know how I get on.

There is one problem with this Browser. If you have more than one mail account with Google, it only gives you the option when remembering the details, to log into one. Firefox remembers all accounts, and you just click the one required.

I'm pleased to say that I followed your instructions and now have version 2.0.172.28. Thanks for your help!

I do wonder about their version numbering system though, it doesn't seem to make any sense at all!

I haven't noticed any differences so far. Was there anything significant?

I've not been following all this - it beats me. I've had to uninstall Chrome to get this "Stable" version, but it seems OK.
