Selling Fee.

Hi i sold a item on Ebay for *This Amount* i noticed i was deducted 98p is this what ebay & paypal have taken

Ah, if only. That's from your PayPal account so that is your PayPal fee.

Presumably you paid a listing fee when you listed the item and eBay will have charged you a Final Value Fee.

In MY EBAY click on the ACCOUNT tag. You'll then see highlighted in blue Account Activity and Fees - either of these will show you your FVF, but it's usually about 9.9%+VAT.

Hi thanks had a look & it was 40p to put my item on then the final total once it sold was £1.98 thanks for help

There are a few sites around that will calculate fees etc. for you:

Ezay Tools

is one and it has a Wizard that will tell you to put in a purchase price (this is what the item cost you). It will then tell you a figure you can list for for 'Zero' profit - the idea being that is the least you want to sell for).

I use an Excel sheet I knocked up a while ago. You just need to know your PayPal rate - usually accessible from your account - but eBay listing fees only vary according to what level you sell at. Most FVFs are the same.
