On the 26th March I posted a download page for the latest build of Picasa 3.
If you have the previous build I would recommend you keep it. For the time being at least. With the new one I encountered many problems. Sliders that wouldn't slide, cropping, etc... I have reverted to the old build.
Anyone else affected ? .

Thanks for posting the problem, I haven't yet been prompted to download the new version, I still have 3.1.0 (Build 70.73.0) which I presume is the previous one to what you are talking about? I tend to any editing in Photoshop, quite hard but I am still trying!! Thanks I will now be wary of trying the new version. Anne

Hi Anne. I use Photoshop too. With some easy jobs though, Picasa is so much quicker. I can be in>do the job> save and out again while Photoshop is still loading ! ha ha!
Also, being a blogger, google mail, google, picasa, and blogger.com are all interlinked and so handy. Just read your 'boo' comment. Thanks.

I've been using build 71.18 in Vista for quite some time now with no problems at all.

We may be talking at cross purposes Greysts. I am confused by your use in Vista for 'some time' . I thought Picasa 3 Build 71.18 was only released around 24th March. I don't mind at all if I'm mistaken - it has been known !
But reverting to the earlier build solved the problems I was having. Mainly, the sharpening slider refusing to be dragged, and the cropping was quite unstable. And I don't think it is my machine, because the problems were the same on my laptops, and my wife's laptop too.
Perhaps I downloaded a dodgy copy. I'll try with it again. But I honestly can't see what the 'improvements' are anyway. From your experience of the newer version, is there much difference ? .

I have it shown as installed on the 20th March. I reckon 10 days is long enough to know if it's working properly.

I fully accept that Greysts. Just wondering though, if you have actually tried using the 'sharpen' tool, or 'crop' without experiencing any problems. Those were the only items I was finding troublesome. And I did try both perhaps 4 times, just to be sure it wasn't a one off glitch.
And, after reverting to the previous build, the problems were no longer manifest. .
