A good reason to get Freesat
      #426204 - Fri Mar 27 2009 10:48 PM

I'll keep this short
I Brought a Grundig Freesat reciever (With HD) the other day plugged it in and found just by switching the Postcode the region can be altered to show any ITV region by default (Ditto BBC) and It does not "report home" Like the old Sky boxes which were hooked up to the Telephone line for "updates"
Has No "TOPUP TV" like the Freeview reciever but has lots of choice overwise, and can tune in more channels (albeit Foreign language)
Have Only 1 question is Irish (RTE) TV tunable on this setup? Has RTE Radio channels coming through loud and clear Is there a work around on the Post code?

Answering my own question
They are in a Right mess as regards Broadcasting RTE on Freeview /Freesat even within Ireland this forum shows the current state of play, and there is a POLL wanting it currently @ 98% to 2 % www.rte2fta.com/
PS The ROI is now getting Channel 5 Via satellite, and some of the UK still cannot pick it up on rooftop aerials(even the latest type)
