Would people test run the new design at my safety site please? I have changed the structure, and transferred the formatting into a style sheet, rather than using HTML tags.
According to TopStyle Pro, it is compliant with both CSS 1 and CSS 2 standards, and the html pages are marked and compliant with 4.01 transitional. Against browser standards, it is shown as compliant with NS 5 and over, Opera 5 and over and IE 5 and over, and shows perfectly as intended in IE6 SP1, my own browser.
However, the proof of the pudding is in the eating, and we all know that what appears compliant may not be in reality. So if some of you could dip a toe into the site and let me know of any bugs, I'd appreciate it.
Things to look for as potential problem areas: the use of a background image under the menu bar, which should also stretch edge to edge in your browser, plus the menu titles should have no underscore; a similar button image used as the two buttons in the contact form, in place of the ugly grey defaults. These are all set in the style sheet, so that is why I am unsure if they work for everyone. Like I say, TopStyle says everything is compliant, but you never can tell till it's tested.

Thanks. Since all formatting comes from a style sheet now, it should be consistent. This screenshot is what it should look like, if your browser interprets the instructions properly. Hehe, note I said if the browser works, not my code, as it was checked and found to be CSS 1 & 2 compliant, so technically it meets the required standards.

An excellent basis for your website. One suggestion I would make is to feature some images to break up the text and make the site look even more 'attractive' than it already is.

I use Firefox and all the site looks fine but the Ad Square from Geocities has stretched right across the site and messed all the page up.

Yep, nothing I can do about their insidious ad square. Sometimes if I get lucky, my Google bar will trash it with the anti-popup feature and leave the screen clear.
Eventually I will get a domain instead, but keeping my personal details hidden from Whois is critical, and I haven't found a way to do that yet. And please, don't go saying "GoDaddy offers anonymous registrations" or whatever, as such a domain would, as ever, need to be 100% British owned and served without yankee interference.

I have a magic trick up my sleeve to vanish the Ad Square and keep your personal details safe. I'll show you in an hour or so. I just need the wand to be activated

This is not exactly foolproof but this is just an example of how you can block the Ad-square. There are some limitations, such as the title bar and address bar displays. Heres how I've blocked it http://safetsurfa.isecurity.org.uk.

It's all very well trying to block the Geocities ad, but by doing so I'm sure that the terms and conditions will be broken and that risks the site being kicked off the server.
Running IE with Google Toolbar and Smart Popup Killer and the ads are blocked anyway. Not sure which one of the two is blocking because I haven't disabled either.

If you have a domain registered in your name you can contact your domain registrar and ask them to remove your personal details from the domain record. It's dead easy.
I did it for my site:
