Just trying to make my mind up about something and would be interested in opinions.
I have been watching whats been showing at CES 2009 and noticed Dell have announced a couple of very nice sleek laptops in the form of the Dell XPS Studio 13 and 16
What I was interested in was opinions of which screen size, which would you go for? me personally I'm after a decent sized screen laptop for general use around the home (a bit more portable than my 24" widescreen desktop) also for say when going abroad on holiday as everywhere has wifi these days. Which screen size would you suggest is better?
I have a 17" Sony laptop and while it is a very nice laptop, it is quite heavy and cumbersome when carrying it around. I would say that 15.4" is the best size for the balance between performance and portability.

I can't speak for the one I am using now as it never gets off the desk!
However when using them professionally in my old jobs I found the smaller screen better for portability as already said. One larger screen I had unexpectedly cracked despite being in a laptop case - probably bad luck, but I think the more portable you want it, the smaller screen you should go for.

Do you think the 16" would be classed as more of a desktop replacement laptop as it's quite a different form factor. I'm just wondering if it's too big to be moved around much and taken on "outings as such" say around the house and garden and on holiday as most hotels have WiFi and maybe the 13.3 is maybe better for portability?
Somethingelse I'm thinking is that battary life isn't great in the smaller laptops so really theres not much portability about them really as you need to be need an electric socket so perhaps may aswell go for the bigger one? lol
