Bluetooth earpiece
      #412634 - Mon Nov 10 2008 07:56 PM

I have a phone (unbranded) that has bluetooth but my earpiece for the Nokia (model BH 303) will not work with the phone although a cheap bluetooth USB dongle that I got from Tescos works.
What I want is a cheap bluetooth earpiece £15-£20 that will work with it,
If it is any help the phone is a Dorado D900
Could it be that it is a Nokia earpiece although they are supposed to be compatible with other brands?

Bluetooth is based on an international standard so that you should be able to have any make of device and it will connect. Can your phone actually 'see' the earpiece when you search for devices?

Sorry forgot about that part it cannot see the earpiece I did remove the pairing with the other phone first and switched off bluetooth on the other phone as well.
The Dorado phone could find the Nokia phone and the other way round when it searched for bluetooth devices (just checked) but the earpiece cannot be seen, maybe it is just one of those things, I know that if the phones can find each other then the earpiece should be found too.

Basic question which you've probably checked already but is the head set battery fully charged and switched on?

It certainly sounds as if the head set is faulty as your two phones can both 'see' each other via Bluetooth. I've found this which is above your budget but is made by one of the best around - Plantronics. As it's eBuyer you can always send it back if it doesn't work.

Thanks, I will give it a try, the headset works fine with the nokia phone I had the same problem with a sony ericsson headset and the nokia phone so bought a nokia headset maybe if I had bought something that wasn't the same brand has the phones like the one you have mentioned I wouldn't have this problem.
