Search the web visually with Viewzi
      #405518 - Fri Sep 05 2008 03:01 PM

Hey everybody,

There's a hot new search engine in town - its name is Viewzi , and it lets you search the web visually rather than textually. It offers no less than 17 different styles of search, from photos and music to news and recipes.

I liked Viewzi so much I made a video workshop about it, which you can watch here. You can also read about Viewzi in the latest issue of Web User.

Excellent ..I agree do look at the Video before you start browsing ..as the section Picture "tabs" can be somewhat confusing
Open the "View mix" bar to start viewing properly, link is located directly under the search box.

Would like to see more tabs added later. A Map or Streaming Media tab perhaps (Unless there is one in the selection?)

I've only had a look at this recently and from what I have seen it looks amazing. Will definitely be looking and searching more closely with it soon.

Check out this 8 minute long YouTube Video from one of the Programmers telling you a lot more about it

And Interestingly, of note for the near future, this Guy and others are grouped together on several up and coming Web Projects .And they don't seem to be Tied to the Usual Web development teams, they are based in Houston Texas
This is what I saw a glimpe of....Some Video links

Hi, I am new to this!

I would like to try Viewzi and have visited the website and clicked the link "add Viewzi to your browser". However, nothing seems to have happened and i cannot locate any download / program on my computer. I have tried to download it again but it says the search provider Viewzi is already on!

I emailed Viewzi and they asked what browser I am using - which is IE7 on Vista Home Premium. However, they haven't replied and i don't want to hassle them!

Does anyone know what i need to do next?

Thanks

Hi, Problem solved. I didn't realise you had to use their website to carry out searches! I thought it loaded into my existing home page.

You'll find its in your "favourites" list
Many sites do off to set their site as your Homepage ...Avoid like the plague if this is all that is on offer. But do save to "Favourites" thtough your browser
