      #402888 - Wed Aug 13 2008 03:46 PM

August 2008 Patch Tuesday Microsoft post a Heavy Patch Load (up to 11)
Yet all I see waiting for me is the SP3 Update which I'm Passing on (from a few months back)

Is there a problem with the Delivery service again? Or is my computer already
up to date?
And I have tried Manually updating (Twice) before you ask ...Running Windows Professional SP2

No problem with the service. I just received all 11 updates. 10 installed no problem but one,KB955428 - security update for Microsoft Works, needs the Works installation disc to install.I tried twice without it and got error codes. Luckily for me Dell supplied the disc.As soon as it was in the update downloaded and installed in moments.
If you have not got the disc you can download it from Microsofts website -

Good luck.

When I installed that update I left the Works disc out to start with.It started to install and then a box popped up saying the disc was required to complete installation .At this point I put it in and clicked on `ok' in the pop up box and the update installed.
I don`t know if you did things different but all I know is that this worked for me.
Hope this helps.

Yes, I get the same thing if I go to M$ Update. A way round it is to use 'Custom' rather than 'Express' to check for updates - that way you can get to the other high priority updates and continue to ignore SP3.
I had 11 updates unfortunately.
