My 700 MB CD-Rs are shown as full with only about 300 MB of photos. Anyone got any idea why this is?

A 700MB CD would appear full if you have chosen to 'close' the CD after burning to disc. This means you can't add any more data (photos in this case) to the disc and for all intents and purposes, it's full (no free space).

What software do you you use to write to CD and what is telling you the CD's are full?

I use Nero software to burn to CD and that informs me CD is full with less than 700MB of photos.

Have a look through Nero's burn settings. If you have the option to 'Allow files to be added later', un-checked, you are in effect closing or finalizing the CD and I assume this is the reason why the CD appears full or have no free space.

Do you also delete some of your previously copied photos from this CD?

Hi Fusion As I wrote previously, I don't 'close' the CD, that is I check "Allow files to be added later (multisession disc)"
Hi greysts I am using CD-R's not CD-RW's so there is no option to delete photos

Yes there is. Although you can't physically remove the file from the CD you can use Nero to remove the reference to it in the index of the CD so it appears to have been deleted. In fact, if you have allowed Nero to 'Update this collection' (or words to that effect) that's exactly what it will have done. However the space on the CD will be marked as unusable and so the CD will appear to have less than the expected 700mb. And THAT'S why I asked the question.
