Stop sound multistreaming?
      #401283 - Thu Jul 24 2008 12:51 PM

Hi peeps. I've just downloaded an updated driver for my sound card, and its adjusted my settings to 'multistream' so that I can apparently listen to music from my speakers while listening to something else on my headphones, very annoying. How can I stop it multistreaming like this and have everything coming through the headphones except when I unplug it? I can't seem to find anything that will stop it.

Ta much.

Go to Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager. Under Sound Controllers, highlight your sound card, right click and choose Properties. Choose the Driver tab and then Roll Back Drivers.

Thanks Greyst - did try, but the rollback option was greyed out. Guess its something I'll have to live with (but oh its so annoying!)

Hi Puta - Its a Conexant AMC Audio. The actual sound is fine, no probs with that, it just seems confused as to whether sound should come from the speakers or the headphones (or maybe its just me that's confused). I just want it to use the headphones when I plug em in, or the speakers when I unplug the headphones. Sometimes the headphones aren't even listed and I have to go into control panel to change the default.
