      #401067 - Tue Jul 22 2008 01:37 PM

Ok, so im coming to the end of my TalkTalk (tt) contract in 2 months, and as much as im happy with the service and deal the speed of the internet is too slow (2.3mb on an 8mb connection ?...damn that attenuation), anyway i know certain compnaies can offer free line upgrades and others can do fibre optics (both of which i know alot about) however, iv never actually asked ....whos your prefered ISP and why? ....the winner is likely to get the next contract i take out ....oh and if you work for them it doesnt count :P

muchas grasias

Are you in a cable enabled area (Virgin Media)?

Do you know that we're all in line for succession to the throne? Really?
Well, if forty-eight million, two hundred thousand, seven hundred and one people died I'd be Queen.

Have you compared there prices with other companies providing service through a normal telephone line? If you absolutely must have the maximum speed for your BB connection no ISP using a t/p line will be able to give you much more than what you are already getting - around 2.5mb. After all, they will be using the same bit of copper wire currently used by TalkTalk. BT say they will be installing fibre optic cables but that ain't gonna happen any time soon.

VM will give you around 19 to 20mb but it will cost you.
