Hello I have to go to a day hospital for six weeks soon and am looking for somewhere to sleep at night. I must be able to get online from my hotel room but am sensitive to wireless internet so it will need to be a wired connection. Everywhere that I've looked into so far has internet that's wireless so I'm wondering if I found a place to stay that doesn't advertise the internet at all, as long as my room has a phone line, would I be able to get online? Thanks very much to anyone that replies.

Yes you can use a hotel telephone line to connect using a dial-up connection but it will be horrendously expensive. Most hotels charge several useful body parts to use their telephone system. Many hotels also advertise broadband and in some cases this is supplied via an ethernet link in the room rather than wireless. Again, this is very, very expensive with charges ranging from £5 an hour to £50 a day.

Yeah thats right get a wireless adapter that would be much cheaper than paying those massive dial up charges to hotels.

Two points. First, the original post is now over a month old. I doubt very much if the OP is reading any more responses. Second, read the question properly. The OP said Quote:

It's a bit pointless recommending a wireless adaptor, isn't it?
