A friend decided to choose 3 mobile for his broadband - why I don't know as he uses a desktop computer and would be far better off with a phone line connection!
When connecting, the modem gives a connection speed of 3.6mbps, but in reality download speeds are far below this and top out at about 15kbps if he's lucky.
General web browsing crawls along at dial up speeds.
I have used 3s coverage checker and he is in their red "Video 3G" area. There is no sign of the HSDPA coverage at any time in the near future.
Is there anything that will speed up his internet browsing - he doesn't download, just looks at the web and checks emails.
