Hi
Friend of mine has just mailed me to say she has "System Defender" problem. I have had a quick Google and it seems there are as many people knocking cures for this as there are suggesting the cures? Many suggestions are to run some other piece of software that, to my mind, might just be as bad as the problem itself?
Anyone got a tried and tested way of getting rid of this for her? I am fairly OK with computers, but I will stop short of getting into Registry problems.
Any advice please?

Better if your friend registered here at Webuser and then follow the instructions contained in this post, then post your log back to the HijackThis forum (not the Security help forum which is where you are now) along with a brief description of your problem. Please be patient, lots of logs, too few helpers.

I thought that might be the answer. She got hijacked about 3 years ago and it took me 2 days to sort it, with some great assistance from Hijack This.
I will pop up there and log on and see where we go from there.
