Hello Folks,
I've installed 2 different file shredders - File Shredder 2 and CyberScrub Basic - but am baffled by them not working. I select a file to delete and both programmes seem to go through the shredding process but when that's completed the file is still there! The normal right click and delete is fine. I'm using Windows Vista.
Anybody have any idea what's going on?
Thanks for your help!
Best wishes, Sonny

I haven't tried the software that you name but WU goes for Eraser read here for deleting your files.
It can be downloaded here
I would be inclined to uninstall what you have got and go for the recommend.

It might not be as sorted as you think...
Suspecting something a little odd about the program you listed I ran a search on Cyberscrub basic. It flashed up red under my Mcafee site advisor. A lot of bad links.
So by the looks of it, you've got some kind of malware on your system. I'd be thinking paying a visit here -> http://housecall65.trendmicro.com/ might be an extremely good idea! (It's an online scanner for nasties, virusues, trojans, rootkits, spyware and so on)
Always be very, very careful when downloading security software, registry cleaners, file shredds and software in general on the web. Criminals set up websites specifically to have casual users download their software, only to install trojans, rootkits and all manner of nasties along with it!
Odds are unless your anti virus/spyware/rootkit has picked it up, your security and PC has been compromised. Get yourself to the address I listed, as quickly as possible!
Hope you read this... assuming you're still able to!

So you are telling us that a piece of software that has been thoroughly tested and is recommended by Web User is infected in some way? I find that hard to believe. Perhaps you've got something wrong with McAfee.
