Have o2 broadband/XP/IE7, pc today is connecting to internet as normal but will not display any web pages and email will not download...
Am running virus checkers etc, but nothing so far. When connected to laptop (now) all seems to be ok. Was slightly unsure where to post this so apologies in advance. Is there anything i should/coild be checking on pc to assist??
Any info appreciated. Cheers

Have you by chance got Zonealarm as your firewall?

The problem is a new update from Microsoft KB951748 which conflicts with Zonealarm. The problem is not with IE7. You can either remove KB951748 from Add/Remove or lower your firewall settings from Stealth to Medium. Hope that helps.

Start/ControlPanel/Add-Remove.
Tick the box at the top to show updates then scroll down to KB951748, left click on it then click remove. Reboot your comp.
You will also have to adjust your setting if you have it set to "Automatic Updates" or it will just download again and you will have the same problem. I suggest you lower your settings in Zonealarm to "Medium" which should be OK until "they" find a fix.

Medium setting is still very secure so you shouldnt get any problem.
If your not going to let Microsoft download their update then leave your settings on Zonealarm has they are.
If on the other hand you want the update then by re-setting Zonealrm to "Medium" you should be able to connect to the internet.
Hopefully a fix be issued soon. Glad your sorted and thanks for letting us know.
