Hello,
I have just upgraded Java Version 6 Update 6. My OS is Windows Vista Basic.
Whenever I try to access Google e-mail, video or You Tube I receive the following message:
'Your Javascript is disabled. Limited functionality is available.'
How do I correct this please?
Thanks
Tia

Which browser ? Have you checked in the tools option to make sure Java is enabled.
Did you uninstall the previous version of Java before updating ?

Hi John,
IE7
Yes,shows enabled in tools.
Yes, uninstalled previous version.
I posted a HJT log and Brian (Bricat) advised as follows (I followed these instructions:
'You need to update your java.
Please go to the add/remove utility in the control panel and uninstall the following:
J2SE Runtime Environment 6.0 Update 0 (and any other java updates that are there)
Reboot the Computer.
Then update your Sun java from here:
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp '
Also, Java is working ok on one log in but not on the other log in??
Hope you can help?
Thanks

Hi Tiatadi , sorry for taking so long to get back to you , I'm upgrading my sons bedroom at the moment and it's completely taking over my life and everything else is taking a back seat
Javascript is slightly different from Java.
As it's working on one log in try deleting all the browsers temp files and cookies , restart IE , and try again.

Hi John,
No problem, hope the upgrade is going ok?
I have tried your suggestion and am still getting the same message.
Also checked scripting is enabled in the security folder on IE tools and all ok.
Any other ideas?
Thanks

All work is finished now thanks , hard graft , but worth it , as i now have one happy laddie.
I'm not sure what the problem is Tiatadi . As it's IE7 you're using you can try this. Click start > all programs > accessories > system tools > Internet Explorer ( no add ons ).....as you're using Vista ( I'm on XP ) it may be a different way to get to system tools. Double click on IE ( no add ons ) and a window will open saying you're now running without add ons. Use the address bar to go to one of the sites where you're having the problem and try to log in. Let us know if you can do so. Don't worry about the IE add on mode , once you close it and log back on as normal IE will be as it was before.

Tried no add on's and entering in a website but the problem still remains!
Going to add a new post referring to Javascript issue and see if someone can give me any more help. (Hope this will be ok).
In the mean time, thanks for all the help you have given me.
