If your like me and think that displaying your 'Unread' email on the Windows Welcome screen (XP) is highly annoying - Try disabling it !
**(WARNING - This procedure requires Registry editing, only attempt if you certain of what you are doing or run a backup before)**
- Click Start -> Run -> type regedit and enter
- Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ UnreadMail
- Double-click on the dword MessageExpiryDays in the right column and set the value to 0, then click OK. (Note: If MessageExpiryDays not exists, just create one and set the value to 0)
-Close Regedit
Your PC now should have the unread email notification turn off.
