How to stop picasa collecting pictures from every where on pc
      #397966 - Thu Jun 19 2008 12:28 PM

Good afternoon, I have been using picasa for a while now as it is the best free photo softwear that i can find. However it is very annoying that everytime I start it up it will search my pc for any picture files and file them away in picasa. How can I turn this off? I just want to be able to tell it which pictures I want to add to it. I have had a seach around on it and tried the help area but to no avail. Any advice much appreciated.

Just got this from a Google Group

In Picasa, do a Tools -> "Folder Manager..." choice... Set the appropriate folders and trees to "scan always" and those are the places that Picasa will scan for photos. If you want Picasa to *not* look in some folders or trees, set them to "remove from Picasa" (this won't remove anything, it just tells Picasa to ignore those places). Let the scan finish.

Well, if forty-eight million, two hundred thousand, seven hundred and one people died I'd be Queen.

I have just done that and it worked a treat. Thank you very much.
