Wired router?
      #397845 - Wed Jun 18 2008 05:33 PM

Hi

This is probably a stupid question, but here goes anyway: we want to be able to use our BT ADSL Broadband connection with a second (laptop) computer, at the same time as the main PC is online. I've been looking at wireless routers and talking to friends and colleagues about them, and it seems they can sometimes be quite troublesome.

It occurs to me that maybe we don't really need to be wireless, as the laptop could be at an adjacent desk near the phone socket.

So is there any way of hooking up both to the Internet at the same time without going wireless? i.e. is there such a thing as a wired modem/router??

Thanks for any advice, and apologies if this is a noddy question!

All wireless routers have Ethernet connections allowing you to wire both up. Or have one wired and one wireless etc.
