hi is there any kind of application i can download to tell me the temperature of my laptop

You can download this utility . . . >> SIW (System Information for Windows)

Once downloaded, open the program and scroll down to Hardware -> Click on 'Sensors'

It should tell you what you're after.

Not all Motherboards support this facility though.
