blue screen
      #397208 - Fri Jun 13 2008 03:19 AM

I decided to re install windows due to the pc running slow although it was clear of virus etc. After deleting and creating new particians I set about installing a fresh copy of xp but during set up I received messages saying windows cannot copy this file (cant remember what file it was but there were a few). I attempted to set up a further 3 times with the same problems. I then took out 512 of ram from the pc thinking it may be a memory problem but the same happened. I then swapped the 512 ram with the other and attempted to install but this time I didn't get any file messages only a blue screen throughout. Has my pc died? Please advise. Thanks

Give the edge connectors of the memory cards a clean and reseat them. In fact, whilst the case is open, clean the whole of the inside.

Now format the C drive (partition) and install XP. When/if you receive the ‘Cannot copy file’ message just ignore it and continue.
