Hi all...
Sorry if i am not making sense of being stupid...but i have my PC and a laptop, & yet managed to get another CPU with pretty reasonable specs & have just 1 monitor. I was wondering if both the PCs can be connected to 1 monitor somehow ? Or if i can connect the monitor to 1 PC and then network them...
thks

If both PCs have a VGA connection and both use PS2 for keyboard and mouse, then using a KVM switch such as this one should do the trick

thks putasolution ...
yes...the CPU is a complete PC.just that the person who gave it to me needed the monitor for the new CPU tower they bough. Yes it has a VGA, MIC, speakers pin, modem, ethernet card, its a working CPU tower without a monitor. This item looks brill. how would this cable work..?..it dont quite say details in the link. In the link, the VGA plug will be plugged into extra CPU tower & the PS2 plugs of this cable will plug into the current system (PC) I have..is it ? but where will the PS2 plugs of the current system be plugged into ?...thks lots

How to Use a KVM Switch With 2 Computers
Basically, a simple KVM swtitch has 4 PS2 plugs, (2 mouse and 2 keyboard) and 2 VGA (monitor cable) that plug into the back of each of the pcs
There is a single socket at the end of each of these cables to plug in a single mouse, keyboard and monitor

I purchased one of these switches sometime ago. It was a Belkin 2 port KVM switch. Unfortunately, if I remember correctly, the resolution of the monitor was set at a one which you didn't want and were stuck with it. I never used it again. I'll try dig out the manual if I still have it. I'm sure it states the resolution issue. Will get back if I can find it.
