lost internet connection

ALSO re-installed Windows XP
Could this have caused the problem?

Yes. You need to install the drivers for your network devices. Did you use a recovery disk or XP install disk?

Yes used recovery disk - which re-installed windows XP - reformatted hard drive first. Cannot understand where to find solution?
