isass.exe

Hi all, my friend has a HP Notebook running Windows XP Home.When he starts up it gets tO the windows page then a message comes up "isass.exe-system error" and underneath "object name not found". It then shuts down and restarts doing exactly the same .I have tried putting it in safe mode but that doesnt work. Can anyone please help?
