VAT calculator
      #394312 - Thu May 15 2008 08:47 PM

Have a look at this site . . . . >> VAT calculator

It's easy to use. Just input an amount either inclusive of VAT or not and it quickly calculates how much the net or gross figure will be.

Really useful item. Also worth a look is this:

Might help you see if Gordo is taking more tax off you this year or not!

An easier way is to add V.A.T is to multiply :- X*1.Y where X is the amount to add V.A.T to and 1.Y is the V.A.T rate eg £74.59p + V.A.T. @17.5% ( 74.59* 1.175) = £87.64p.

To subtract V.A.T divide :- X/1.Y where X is the amount to remove V.A.T from and 1.Y is the V.A.T rate eg £87.64 - V.A T @ 17.5% (87.64/1.175) = £74.59.

To find amount of V.A.T subtract :- 87.64 - 74.59 = 13.05 therefore V.A.T on £74.59 is £13.05p.

I do know how to calculate VAT but Fusion's tip is a lot easier and quicker than having to use a calculator!

Can you give me the names of all these people? Also could you explain why all these people find it easier to use a calculator (on the assumption that they can remember the formula) than put a number into a cell on a web site?

Well, if forty-eight million, two hundred thousand, seven hundred and one people died I'd be Queen.
