Will you be installing a Touch Wall into your home?
      #394298 - Thu May 15 2008 03:29 PM

Afternoon everyone...

Wow, have you seen the video of Microsoft's new Touch Wall? Is this the touchscreen future of our homes? Will our living-rooms turn into giant iPhones?

What do you think? Fantastically futuristic or annoyingly distracting?

My daughters Infant School has interactive white boards in every class, maybe this will be the next step for schools, I imagine it would have huge scope for teaching.

I can't see myself giving presentations on one of the walls of my house, but it's easy to see where it could come into use for education as max said (we had the same deal in college. The things went down a storm after they were installed).

I don't think it will make it into many homes though, for the sole reason that one has to stand and stretch around to use it. Just look at the picture, it's taller than Bill! The family computer is used more for games, web browsing, email, IM and school projects. Perhaps a few movies at a push but we've got media centres and giant TV's for those nowadays. I prefer to sit down with a cup of tea and check my mail.
