Ants
      #394179 - Tue May 13 2008 03:13 PM

Well it’s that time of year again for ants, so has anyone got any tried and tested ways of killing the pesky little critters other than a size 10 on their heads lol,
some say the non bio wash powder works any, other ideas ?

Stamping works, but also brings more of them out, but that way you can explain to passers by that you are 'practicing your River Dance moves' rather than annihilating an insect colony.

There is the simplistic but VERY sadistic magnifying glass method, but it is time consuming and (horrible) takes too long.

Dig up the nest, pretend you are Ripley from Aliens and kill the queen! Bam! Take that!

Sorry, I'm out of stupid options.

Mind, someone at work suggested talcum powder. Not sure how that helps. Ant Powder is always the best solution, but if they are coming out from under slabs you do need to lift them to douse the nest properly.

The worst thing for me is that they go under the block paving at work. They dig out the sand, rain comes along and the block paving sinks. And guess who has to fix it!

Get yourself an ant farm and watch how they live! A very organised society!
