Want to try Linux but don't fancy the risk of turning your brand new computer over to dual boot? Then use your old computer as a Linux workstation, because Linux will run on the older computers that Window$ XP and Vi$ta turns its' nose up at. So stop ditching your old computers into landfill sites and get into the world of (Micro$oft free) Linux. Ubuntu is a good one to start with.
I thoroughly recommend a series of articles showing how to create a live CD of Puppy Linux, a simple non-geeky version from the hundred or so versions out there:
(Click on "Bootcamp Archive" at the bottom of the page for subsequent articles). You can use Puppy on bootup, and you can save your settings after you have set up email, etc. Everything is clearly explained in the five Telegraph articles. It can be installed on computers with only 64Mb RAM and a 100MHz processor. Your Windows OS remains untouched:
"[Puppy Linux] runs directly from a CD... makes no changes to the data on your computer's hard drive or configuration (unless you want it to), so it is completely safe and you don't have to wait for a crash to try it out. In fact I would encourage you to use it and get to know Puppy, it may even inspire you to have a look at what else the Linux world has to offer."

i use open suse for most situations except gaming and the last few torrents i am downloading in windows yup i am even planning to move my torrent downloading to open suse after the downloads i want are done
some things i am wanting to get for open suse and would like help getting them are:
anti virus/spyware for free (although some linux users claim there is no need for these) cd/dvd burning software for free (able to burn disk images as well) and any other free games open suse can support (all ready looked thou the rpm database and got some good games allready)
