Lost Files on Vista Home Premium
      #393741 - Wed May 07 2008 08:23 PM

Hi Everyone,

Managed to move some files from a SD card onto my PC instead of copying them.

I have no idea how many of what they were called but I did it today. Has anyone any idea on how I search for them them on Vista Home Premium as I need them back onto my SD card.

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks for reading

Can I assume that the SD card came from a camera? If it did you need to look for files that have a .jpg extension.

Wish they were, I was making a backup of my Sat Nav card when I moved the files instead of copying them.

What method did you use to 'move' the files?

Hmmm seem to remember place my card in my reader then the system opening up and asking me to copy or move and I clicked move and here I am without my maps.

Is it possible to put another file onto your SD card, any file will do.
Now, try to re-enact exactly how you 'moved' the Sat Nav files. The System should remember where the other files were moved to and hopefully will allow you to see the folder in question and you can copy and paste them back on to your SD Card.

Good luck.

Another option is to use the 'Search by date created or modified' option. Search the who hard disk for any files that were created on the day you did the move.
