Dell Laptop
      #393618 - Mon May 05 2008 11:03 PM

Have been able to bag an old lap top from work - its Dell Inspiron, quite an old one, but the problem is that it only has the floppy drive inserted. As long as its Inspiron branded, are all Dell CD/DVD Drives a generic fit meaning I can buy a cheap one from somewhere?

Thanks

They aren't entirely standard but when I bought one it was a simple case of checking the Dell laptop model number to make sure the CD drive fitted. You might have a problem if you want a DVD drive because only the more modern Inspirons had those as an option.

Well, if forty-eight million, two hundred thousand, seven hundred and one people died I'd be Queen.
