hi there people im new to all this but i hope you can help me.
i have a "acer aspire AMD pc" and im running windows xp, but since the comp is about 8years old it only has a dial up connection in the back of the tower so i went on to ebay and bought an ethernet connection so i could hook my comp up to my router. the ethernet connection is a "TP-LINK gigabit ethernet adapter" model no: "TG-3269". so i followed the instructions on how to connect it into my comp and did so bye the book, when it came to installing the driver then i got this message> "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"
i have tried reinstalling my windows to no avail, then i searched on the internet at my mates house and read that code 39 is a registry problem so i bought "regcure", "registry smart" and "registry mechanic" to clean up my registry. i ran all 3 cleaners and rebooted my comp to try instalation again but no avail AGAIN. I have formatted my hd 11times now and am getting annoyed with the same msg appearing every time i try to install the driver, can anybody help me please????

have you tried running it without installing the driver ? xp is loaded with a lot of "generic" drivers which may possibly find the network card and install it. just reboot your computer and see if the hardware wizard detects the new card .

If XP can't find the drivers for your card, click on this link and download the driver from there.

It sounds to me as if it's time to get your money back and get a card that works without all that hassle, something like this.
