If you have a big problem with your PC, then a good idea to resolve it is by doing a 'System Restore'. Doing this will resolve many errors, although you should be very careful when using this method. You should not use the System Restore method often and it should only be used if you are not able to resolve the problem in any other way.
To do a System Restore, select 'Start' the select 'Search' and put in 'restore'. The restore program will show up, just click on this then follow the instructions.

Or on XP....Start-All Programs-Accessories-System Tools-System Restore.
Its also a good idea to create a restore point just in case something goes wrong in the future.
