Do you mean the screen darkens and you get a prompt to carry out the copy action?
Apart from copying, are there any other things you are not allowed to do?

I’m sorry but I’m not Harry Potter with special powers and I don’t have a crystal ball, so it’s a bit difficult to offer advice if the problems are not fully explained.
I’ll ask some more questions: 1. When denied access, do you mean the screen darkens and you get a prompt that you have to reply to? 2. When Vista immunises SpyBot items, do you receive a message or something else? 3. You’ve posted it twice, what does (sp) mean? 4. You say you’ve never been successful in returning the system to a previous date, do you get a message or something else? 5. A different version of Vista won’t make any difference. In fact, more features = more problems!

1. a box comes up saying 'you do not have administrator rights, please the administrator. 2. again when i immunize a box come up saying 'you do not have administrator right's etc... 3. (sp) after a word means the author isn't sure if it's the right spelling. 4. when the pc restarts after system restore a box come up saying 'system restore was not succesful, your pc has not been altered'. 5. not even OEM premium vista ??

I have a suspicion that you have something more than a ‘rights’ problem. However, let’s try 2 methods to get programs running. If the first one doesn’t work, try method two.
1. Right-click the program (or shortcut) you want to run and select ‘Run as administrator’. 2. Turn off UAC and try running the programs in the normal way. To turn off UAC, go to Control Panel > Classic View > User Accounts and click 'Turn User Account Control on/off'.
To prevent the security pop-up in the System Tray, right-click the red shield (or Control Panel > Classic View > Security Center) and click 'Change the way Security Center......' then choose 'Don't notify me and don't........'.
Post back here with your findings.

1 very strange thing happened
1.clicked spybot in normal mode to immunize ,the box came up 'no admin rights etc ) 2. right clicked run as admin and immunized ok 3. i unticked UAC then i had to restart my computer 4. opened my account,my desktop and stuff was loading up then a box came up 'windows installer - a program is installing' 5. another box came up saying 'fixing windows live messenger service'
could this have been the problem ?

Your words SpyBot and immumize [sic] don’t sit comfortably together, hence my suspicion of something slightly more sinister.
Let us know how things progress.
